Hi, I'm Richard — also known as Kuma.

I'm a Senior Product Designer (UI/UX) with 10+ years of experience, currently based in Tokyo. I like working where things get complicated — dense data, hardware constraints, several products sharing one system — and turning that into something a team can actually build on.

Most recently I designed Razor, an AI hotel-pricing SaaS, as the only designer on the product — brand, marketing site, and UI. Before that, I spent four years at LAVA MUSIC building HILAVA OS, the operating system inside a smart guitar. It shipped on 50,000+ instruments and became the No.1 guitar in mainland China.

The through-line in my work is systems: I've built three from zero, and I care more about what a team can keep making after I'm gone than about any single screen.
